Privacy Policy for Task Counter

1. Overview

Task Counter ("the App") is designed with your privacy as a top priority. The App is a local-first task tracking application that stores all data on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or have access to any of your personal information or usage data.

2. Data Collection

We collect ZERO data. Task Counter does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, usage statistics, analytics, or any other data to external servers.

3. Data Storage

All data created within Task Counter is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This includes:

• Topics/tasks you create
• Log entries (when you tap to count)
• Emoji and color preferences
• Any other app settings

This data never leaves your device unless you choose to enable iCloud sync (see below).

4. iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you enable iCloud sync in your device settings, your Task Counter data may be synchronized with your other devices signed in to the same iCloud account. This syncing is:

• Encrypted: Apple encrypts your data in transit and at rest
• Private: Only you can access your iCloud data through your Apple ID
• Controlled by you: You can disable iCloud sync at any time in iOS Settings

We (the developers of Task Counter) do not have access to your iCloud data. All iCloud functionality is provided and controlled by Apple. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles iCloud data.

5. Widgets

Task Counter includes Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets. These widgets:

• Display information from your tasks stored locally on your device
• Use App Groups to share data between the main app and widget extension
• Do not transmit any data outside your device
• Update their display based on your local task data

6. Third-Party Services

Task Counter does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or crash reporting tools. There are no third-party SDKs included in the App.

7. Permissions

Task Counter does not request any special permissions beyond basic iOS app functionality. The App does not access:

• Your contacts
• Your location
• Your camera or photos
• Your microphone
• Any other personal data

8. Children's Privacy

Task Counter is suitable for all ages and does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

9. Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

• You can delete individual tasks and log entries within the App
• Deleting the App from your device will permanently remove all Task Counter data
• If you have iCloud sync enabled, you may need to manage iCloud data through iOS Settings

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

11. Open Source

Task Counter is transparent about its privacy practices. You can review the App's source code to verify our privacy claims.

13. Your Rights

Because Task Counter stores all data locally on your device and does not collect any information:

• There is no data to request from us, as we have none
